It is hard to believe that we have been in school for 3 full weeks. I hope my students are enjoying school as much as I am. Below is a quick peek of some fun activities we did in class.

This week we added Work on listening to our Daily 5 rotations. The kids love listening to stories from TumbleBooks.

We practiced writing about the beginning, middle, and end of stories during shared reading.

The kids enjoyed reviewing VCe words. We played a couple of games, but VCe Tic Tac Toe was a class favorite.

We had fun practicing our punctuation skills. We even made hats that gave our brains punctuation power.

We sorted sentences and the kids had to show me the punctuation card the sentence ended with.

Thanks for stopping in and taking a look at what we have been learning in 2nd grade.

We had another great week in 2nd grade! We had a few sweeties celebrate their birthday since school has began.

The kids have been working really hard during daily 5. We added Work on Writing this week. I love that I get to be apart of creating a love for reading and writing everyday! Look how engaged the kids are.

This week we learned about fables. The kids did a great job finding the moral or lesson in the stories. We responded in our Reader's Response notebooks with these cute activities.

We started writer's workshop this week. The kids used a Bubble Map to organize their thoughts before starting their drafts.

In math we worked on our fact fluency. The kids loved the Doubles Rap.

I hope you enjoyed a little peek of our week.
